Stephen Curry is the First Unanimous MVP in NBA History
After leading the Golden State Warriors to a record-setting season, it is only fitting that Stephen Curry wins his second MVP award in unanimous fashion. Curry’s highlight reel was being updated at this season with half-court buzzer beaters and clutch three-pointers. He led the league in PPG (30.1) and steals per game (2.1). He shot an impressive 50.4% from the field and 45.4% from beyond the arc.
This is the 1st time in league history that an MVP has been award unanimously. Not even Michael Jordan has enjoyed such an honor. Curry is also the 11th player in history to be awarded consecutive MVP awards and the 1st guard since Steve Nash (in ’05 & ’06).
