A new wave of young talent has taken over the NBA! A week after 23 year-old Spurs forward, Kawhi Leonard won the 2014-2015 NBA Defensive Player of the Year, two more youngsters were recognized for their efforts this season. 27 year-old, Stephen Curry took home his first NBA MVP award, while Andrew Wiggins became the fourth-youngest player ever to win the Rookie of the Year award.

Stephen Curry – Most Valuable Player
The best player on the best team. The Golden State Warriors were one of 10 teams in NBA history to finish with 67+ wins, and Stephen Curry led the team in points, assists and steals per game. Curry also finished in the top three in the NBA in win shares, plus-minus and player efficiency rating. Stephen Curry also had one of the best shooting seasons ever, as he set an NBA record for three-point field goals made in one season with 286.

Andrew Wiggins – Rookie of the Year
After being picked first overall in last year’s NBA draft, Wiggins went into the season as the favorite to win the award –and he did not disappoint. Wiggins led all qualified rookies in minutes per game (36.2), points per game (16.9) and field goals made per game (6.1). Wiggins also finished eighth in player efficiency among rookies, was crowned game MVP in the midseason Rising Stars Challenge, and won Western Conference Rookie of the Month four of the six months of the season.
